Dear Families,

Welcome to Arroyo Verde Elementary School. We are so excited to welcome you to our Aztec family! We are proud of our school and look forward to having your child attend Arroyo Verde. There are many opportunities for parents to participate in school activities; whether it is supporting classrooms or being involved in our Parent Teacher Association (PTA), School Site Council (SSC) or English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC). The following is a bit of information to answer your pertinent questions regarding the first day of school and beyond. 

The first day of school is Thursday, August 7th. Our first day of school is a regular school day which begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 11:40 AM for Early Bird (EB) Transitional Kindergarten, 10:05am-1:45pm for Later Gator (LG) Transitional Kindergarten, 8:00am-1:45pm for Kindergarten and 11:50am and 8:00am-2:08pm for grades 1-5. The first day of school both EB and LG transitional kindergarten will attend from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

Parents of newly enrolled kindergarteners and transitional kindergarten will be notified of class placement, teacher name, room number and orientation information in a letter by U.S. mail approximately a week before school starts. This information will be sent to your home address. This letter will also contain information regarding Kindergarten and TK orientation with the time you will meet your child's teacher and have a chance to see the classroom before school begins. This orientation will take place on Monday, August 4th at either 4:30pm or 5:30pm, depending on your student’s teacher.

If you are enrolling a child in 1st through 5th grade, your child's teacher placement can be found in their AERIES account prior to school beginning if your Aeries Parent Portal has been completed. Parents must set up their AERIES parent portal account prior to the first day of school ensuring your emergency contacts are up-to-date and all authorizations have been completed and saved. Arroyo Verde is fortunate to host an afterschool YMCA day care on our campus. If you are interested in knowing more information about this program, please call them directly at (909)792-0555 as the program varies in its services.
